Simms Fishing Products knows how to revolutionize the gear anglers rely on when fishing in the harshest conditions. It started with waders. John Simms created the first neoprene waders. That changed the game and kicked off nearly four decades of innovation, and a long list of legendary products
But one segment always eluded Simms, offshore saltwater fishing. Until now.
Rip Line Pro is quite frankly the most high-tech, bulletproof foul-weather jacket and bibs that I’ve ever seen. Simms nailed this design, but with roots in Montana, and a staff of predominantly trout obsessed fly anglers, they admittedly needed some help navigating the offshore fishing world. That’s where CatchFire Communications came in.
I’ve known the Simms team for many years, and when they approached me to help build partnerships, consult on media buys, and create engaging campaigns that would catch offshore crews that see the value in a $1,000 rain suit, I jumped at the opportunity.

Partnerships with The Billfish Foundation, top offshore tournaments, and respected captains support the legacy media plan.
Rip Line launched in October 2026 and with the plan CatchFire helped create, Simms will reach close to 1 million offshore anglers by the end of the year.
